Slave Trail

The trail goes through an immersion in the mangrove in Maracaípe. it is ecological and will take you to live a day  in full contact with nature, physical activity and getting to know the highest peak of Maracaípe,  about 137m above sea level from the sea, the Outeiro viewpoint, from where you can see the beaches of Muro Alto, Porto de Galinhas, Maraca and Serrambi.

The route includes crossing the river with the support of a boat, buoys, floating noodles and stand up, passing through the mangrove and the Atlantic forest vegetation to the highest point of Maracaípe beach,_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_

An experience in the mangrove in a day of full contact with nature, physical activity, knowledge about the biodiversity of this important ecosystem and about historical and cultural facts of Maracaípe and Porto de Galinhas.

The tourist will walk along a secret path through the mangroves dating back to 1610, having been created by Franciscan missionaries who arrived in the region.

 

This route is maintained to this day by the community that circulates daily through the area while fishing and catching shellfish and crabs, passing through the slave trail in the Atlantic Forest and the second to Outeiro.

It is a true wealth in the midst of nature, a different, charming and fun trail.

The complete route (round trip) is about 6.5 km long and takes an average of 4 to 5 hours, always leaving between 9 am and 10 am from Rua Baía de Maracaípe (street four), Maracaípe Ipojuca-PE.

Look for an expert to carry out the crossing, do not venture alone.

Always be prepared to do a trail no matter how easy it seems.
